Lucas Till

Once upon a time....about 8 or 9 years ago, a young boy named Lucas walked through the office doors of Nicolle Rubenstein, then training director for an acting company and said he wanted to be an actor.

Within minutes of talking and working with Lucas, though a bit shy, Nicolle realized he had "it"--that illusive thing-- that unending charisma, that winning personality, the natural acting talent--that all agents, managers and casting directors look for in the next rising star.

Taking him under her wing, Nicolle guided Lucas and his family through the confusing world of the acting industry for the next several years. Helping him hone his acting skills, guiding him in training, helping him with his agents, giving advice. All the while telling his family to keep at it. Lucas has what it takes to possibly make it in this business.

Nicolle left the acting company and started her own acting studio--The Actor's Scene, but still kept in touch with Lucas's mother Dana. Still gave advice and encouragement from time to time while Lucas booked many commercials, print and a nice role in the films Walk The Line and Adventure of Oicee Nash.

Then two weeks ago, Dana emailed Nicolle telling her the exciting and unbelievable news: Lucas had just booked the most sought after role for teen boys in America--playing the love interest of Miley Cirus in the New Hannah Montanna movie!

Dana's email to Nicolle, "You were there at the beginning and helped him get his start. We are thrilled at his success and you have been an integral part of this. Just wanted to say Thank You and Congratulations."

Nicolle's response: "This is the role that could launch Lucas to stardom. This is what you have been waiting for. Are you ready?"

And Nicolle's prediction 8 or 9 years ago is about to come to fruition.

Auditioning for major roles through both his Atlanta agency J Pervis Talent and his LA agency Osbrink Talent Agency, Lucas flew to LA in October for a screen test with the Disney Channel. Then flew back in Nov for another screen test for a feature with Fox in November. Coming close to landing a big project, Lucas went back to LA in April to audition for the Hannah Montanna role and he was exactly what the director wanted.

He will be playing the role of Travis Brody, love interest to Miley Cirus with shooting scheduled to start May 6.

After hearing the news, Nicolle immediately called J Pervis and Osbrink congratulating them on the huge booking. And of course emailed Lucas. "I was so proud of him," said Nicolle. "I want him to know how proud of him I am that he stuck with this for so long. To not give up." She adds, "In this instant gratification society, so many people do not have the courage, and fortitude to keep at this for so long and to chase their dreams. But Lucas did. His family did. And I am so happy for them."

According to Nicolle one of the main reasons people do not make it in this industry is they give up. "I am sending this email out to all to show my current students what can be acheived with hard work, dedication and above all: Patience," Nicolle said. "Lucas is an inspiration to every one out there with dreams... and the courage to chase them."
